Clearing Charges
Estimate CHA and clearing agent service fees.
Understanding Agency Fees
Clearing Chargesoften referred to as Customs Brokerage or CHA Feesare the professional compensations paid to a licensed Customs House Agent for navigating complex regulatory frameworks. This includes filing Bill of Entry (BE) for imports or Shipping Bills (SB) for exports, and physically supervising the release of goods at bonded terminals.
Primary Fee Structures:
- Flat Service Fee: Professional charges per document or per container (common in FCL).
- Documentation & Swift: Costs related to EDI filing, certificates of origin processing, and physical courier overheads.
Crucially, these charges represent the service aspect only. They do not include statutory payments such as Customs Duties, IGST/VAT, or Port Storage (Demurrage). Importers use this tool to separate professional service costs from taxes when analyzing their Total Landed Cost.
