PMC / P6P Air Freight Pallet
High-capacity universal air cargo pallet
Overview of the PMC Pallet
The **PMC pallet** (also known as P6P) is a heavy-duty universal air freight pallet utilized across the global aviation network. Unlike enclosed containers, the PMC is a flat platform that allows for the loading of oversized or irregularly shaped cargo that wouldn't typically fit within the rigid walls of a standard ULD. Cargo is secured using high-tension nets and straps that integrate into the pallet's reinforced perimeter track.
A key feature of the PMC is its broad compatibility. It is designed to be loaded onto both the main deck and lower deck of wide-body freighters and passenger aircraft. Its robust construction can support massive payloads, making it the preferred choice for industrial machinery, automotive parts, and bulk consolidated shipments.
The PMC pallet is often "profiled" according to the specific aircraft's fuselage contour to ensure maximum space utilization. In a 747 freighter, for example, PMC pallets can be stacked much higher on the main deck than in the lower hold, significantly increasing total cargo volume.
