40' Standard Container
The standard benchmark for high-volume international ocean freight.
Overview of the 40' Standard Container
The 40-foot standard container (40GP) is the logistical backbone for large-volume shipping
across global trade lanes. While it shares the same width and height as its 20-foot counterpart,
its double length provides twice the cubic capacity, making it immensely efficient for
consolidated retail shipments, palletized furniture, and industrial machinery that requires more
horizontal spread.
Structurally composed of high-grade corten steel, the 40-foot unit is designed to withstand the
rigors of multi-modal transport. It is the primary choice for businesses moving significant
shipment quantities, such as consumer electronics, household appliances, and textiles. By
balancing massive interior volume (approx. 67m³) with a standardized footprint, it optimizes
vessel space and reduces the per-item shipping cost for large-scale importers and exporters.
