20' Standard Container
The universal standard for international intermodal logistics.
What is a 20' Standard Container?
The 20-foot standard dry container, often called the "Standard Dry Van" or "20GP", is the
fundamental unit of ocean freight. Its robust corten steel construction and standardized corner
castings make it suitable for seamless transport across ships, trains, and trucks.
This container type is engineered for heavy, high-density cargo. Due to its balanced
volume-to-weight ratio, it is the preferred choice for industrial materials, manufacturing
components, and dense commodities like copper, scrap metal, or solar panels. Its enclosed,
weather-tight structure provides superior protection against the marine environment, making it a
reliable workhorse for worldwide trade routes.
