20' Refrigerated Container
Ensuring cold chain integrity with active thermal control.
What is a 20' Refrigerated Container?
The 20-foot refrigerated container, universally known as a "Reefer," is a highly specialized
piece of intermodal equipment designed for temperature-sensitive cargo. Unlike standard dry
vans, reefers are equipped with an integrated cooling unit that maintains precise environmental
conditions, ranging from -30°C to +30°C.
The internal architecture of a reefer is unique, featuring insulated sandwich panels and a
"T-bar" floor designed specifically for bottom-to-top airflow. This ensures consistent cooling
throughout the entire cargo block. Reefers are essential for the global cold chain, transporting
perishable fruits, vegetables, seafood, pharmaceuticals, and high-value chemicals. While the
integration of the motor reduces internal volume compared to dry units, it provides the critical
protection needed for goods that require stable thermal conditions throughout their maritime
journey.
