20' Platform Container

Reinforced deck for extremely heavy, ultra-concentrated industrial loads.

What is a 20' Platform Container?

The 20-foot Platform container is a specialized logistical unit designed solely for the transport of ultra-heavy, concentrated cargo that cannot be accommodated by standard dry or even flat rack containers. Unlike a flat rack, a platform has no end walls or side walls; it consists entirely of a massive, reinforced steel chassis with an exceptionally high load-bearing capacity. These units are typically used for shipping industrial presses, high-density metal casts, oversized engines, or huge machinery parts that require a completely unobstructed loading surface.

Because the 20' Platform lacks structural walls, the cargo must be meticulously secured to the integrated lashing rings using heavy-duty chains and steel cabling. These units are often placed on top of other containers on a vessel's deck or in specialized "project cargo" slots. They offer the maximum possible flexibility for wide and long items, as there are no physical barriers on any side. For shippers of extreme industrial equipment, the 20' platform is the ultimate solution for moving dense, high-mass localized loads across international waters.
