20' Flat Rack Container
High-strength equipment for oversized, heavy, and awkward-shaped cargo.
Defining the 20' Flat Rack Container
The 20-foot Flat Rack (20FR) is a specialized intermodal unit designed to accommodate cargo that
is too wide, too tall, or too heavy to fit into a standard enclosed container. Featuring
high-strength steel frames and two reinforced end walls, flat racks provide a heavy-duty
platform for "Out-of-Gauge" (OOG) shipments. Without side walls or a permanent roof, they are
ideal for transporting heavy machinery, industrial rollers, large pipes, and military equipment.
Cargo on a 20FR is secured using professional-grade lashing points built into the reinforced
floor. This ensures stability during ocean transit and transfers. Because flat racks lack the
protection of a solid enclosure, goods are typically covered with heavy-duty tarpaulins after
being securely strapped down. These units are critical for project cargo where the integrity of
a high-load-bearing floor is the primary requirement for safe global transportation.
