The Role of the 20' Collapsible Flat Rack

The 20-foot Collapsible Flat Rack (20CFR) is a dual-purpose intermodal asset. Like the standard flat rack, it is built to handle Out-of-Gauge (OOG) cargo that exceeds the width or height of standard dry boxes. However, the 20CFR features end walls that can be folded down onto the reinforced base when the unit is not in use.

This collapsing capability is a critical financial and logistical advantage. When empty, up to seven 20CFR units can be stacked and moved as a single 20-foot ISO container, drastically reducing deadheading and repositioning costs for carriers. For project shippers, this equipment provides a secure, high-strength platform for heavy machinery, project components, and Oversized industrial parts, supported by multiple lashing points for professional cargo tie-down and stabilization.
